We’re joining with friends from Crossroads Church, Watershed, and the Mission House to help clean and paint Davey’s Uptown Ramblers Club – an historic dive bar and live music venue on Main Street, which has become a third place for Jay Sauser, Nathan Perry and a few others. The bar has been owned by the Markowitz family since 1950 when it moved from Broadway to its current location at 3402 Main. We need your help this Sunday, June 30 to knock out these interior projects. Jay will coordinate efforts from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. as needed.
While Davey’s is not a kid-appropriate venue, your kids will be welcome to join you at the Lawn and Leaf Brigade lot next to 2720 Campbell as we also work to bless neighbors who are spearheading sustainable composting and urban farming efforts in the Longfellow neighborhood. Dress for outdoor temps, wear your sunscreen, closed toed shoes, and garden gloves if you have them. Courtney Christensen will direct activities at the lot from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Looking forward to getting dirt under our fingernails, paint on our faces, and sweat in our eyes. Please comment with your questions.
